First, Do No Harm Review
Customer Reviews
I am a big fan of medical pounds, with all the stories about doctors and their patients. My shelves are full of them, including books by Frank Huyler, Jerome Groopman, Atul Gawande and Jerald Winakur, just to name a few. I love stories that humanize hospitals and their staff, and we empathize and tell us what happened in these walls.
This book deserves an A + in this regard. Lisa Belkin's book shares a month, and in those months, we visit some patientssee their progress. We know and care about everyone – from the smallest premature babies who proclaim to be a devastating injury and disease, the darker future.
But this book more than our sympathy with these patients and the learning of their treatment, it is also employed as the medical staff with this on a regular basis. This is not only the patients that we know and care about this book.
BeyondAre fascinating chapters that are within the ethics committees, to determine the future course of action of these patients can, and you know us, as doctors determine when to carry out the procedures or do not help, and if the real problems of the hospital finance is closely connected with these complex decisions.
I went read this book in one sitting, and both me and brought me up. Highly recommended.

First, Do No Harm – Jackie Watkins – Des Moines, IA
Interesting book. Maybe a bit depressing with so many deaths. Written like a novel rather than the depressing facts.
Uncommon Perspective – Amy Flynn – Crazy Town, USA
This book light on some ethical concerns that I really think. Not every story has a happy ending, but thats the definition of life. As a health professional, I enjoy.
First Do No Harm – Gayle J. Eade – Christchurch, New Zealand
This is not the sort of book I usually read. But from the first page bound I enjoyed every page. The fact that all patients were real people are even more interesting. A look behind the scenes accounts of the ethics committees, etc. We will open the eyes what is actually happening in hospitals, with life and death decisions. I liked this book and I recommend it to anyone.
